"Is it wrong that I want to watch all these shows?"No, absolutely not. The right path in life is to follow your interests. If you want to watch TV then TV is the place for you to be. If you want to watch TV, it shows you have talent for TV, and it's your talent that is crying out within. It is guiding you. Anyway, that's how I see it.Now, what shows are most attractive? What characters are most interesting and why? What themes resonate most deeply? What story worlds are just the best and the coolest? What plot or series of events is most interesting?
Hi Amanda! My name is Tobie. I'm a 17 year old girl and I have an obsessive passion for watching tv. All throughout Jr. High and most of High School I've been writing specs of my favorite tv shows for fun. If one of my shows goes on hiatus and I just can't handle the suspense, I'll write the next episode how i see it or if there is a season finale with a cliffhanger, I'll write the premiere of the next season. I swear I have a chest full of scripts! I just found your blog while i was trying to look for advice on the next step i need to take as far as college goes in order to fulfill my dream of writing for a network television show. I'm not as eager to create a pilot for a show as I am to eventually hop on board with a progressing tv show in the future. I was wondering if you could give me advice on what colleges have good screenwriting/playwriting courses? Thanks! Good luck with your career! -Tobie :)
